The history of the company's foundation goes back to the distant 30s of the twentieth century, despite this, the date of the establishment of the chemical plant "Luch" is considered to be July 1, 1970.

It was at this time that the Yaroslavl Cotton Factory was abolished by the decision of the Yaroslavl Regional Executive Committee, on the basis of which the chemical plant «Luch» appeared.

From this moment, a great, and complex and, at the same time, successful period of the formation and development of the plant begins.

In the period from 1970-1992, the company has been actively working in various areas of activity: it produces watercolours and gouache paints, dolls, soft-filled and plastic toys.

Fierce competition with China in the 90s became a decisive factor that determined the main direction of the company's development. The priority direction of the plant was the production of goods for creativity.
In 1992, a new technology of manufacturing watercolours with use of honey was introduced into production. At the same time, the company set a course for the technical re-equipment of the plant.
All technological equipment was being gradually updated. Production and storage spaces were expanding, the plant laboratory was established.
In 1994, the company's specialists developed and patented a recipe for high-quality children's modeling clay.
During the same period, an Italian automatic line for the production of PVA glue was put into operation.
Since 1994, the plant were actively increasing production. Fundamentally new types of products are introduced to the market: window decoration  paints, acrylic paints, stencils, spill-proof containers, sets for creativity and many other things.

The year of 2009

In 2009, the Luch company launched a new line of business - the production of adhesive tapes on a full cycle, which included flexographic printing on BOPP film, applying an adhesive layer, cutting rolls onto rollers and their packaging. A new production department was built on the territory of the plant, provided with modern equipments. The assortment of the company now includes such types of products as adhesive packaging tapes and stationery ones. The production technology has been implemented for the production of adhesive tape with interlayer printing of the logo and any customer information.
During the same period, two modern warehouse complexes for raw materials and product storage were  built.
 

The year of 2010

At the beginning of 2010, gouache paints and  oil-based wax crayons earned the “100 best goods of Russia” award in the category “Industrial goods for the population”.
In 2014, watercolours, gouache paints, wax crayons and modeling clay of the "Classic" series received a positive assessment of the expert committee and were presented for awards in the "Best for Children" competition.

Today the company "Luch" is the leading Russian manufacturer, and the largest supplier of goods for creativity. At the same time the company is developing a direction for the production of adhesive tape, small-sized plastic containers.

The rapid growth of the wholesale direction allows the company to develop and seek innovations in production technology, design, and expand the goods range.

- department for the manufacture of molds

- own car and truck fleet

The fundamental principles of the Luch company are quality and safety. The products manufactured at the plant meet all the requirements of the legislation of the Russian Federation and the requirements of the Customs Union. In addition, all main types of products have been tested in European certification centers and comply with the requirements of the harmonized standards of the European Union.

The Luch company is an active and constant participant in international and regional exhibitions Skrepka Expo, Mir Detstva, Kids Russia, Paperworld, RosUpak, creative festivals, thematic forums. The company has become not once a laureate in the competition "100 best goods of Russia", the winner of the competition "The best enterprises of the Yaroslavl region".

Realizing all the responsibility and necessity of its activity, the company "Luch" successfully cooperates with representatives of educational institutions: psychologists, teachers, methodologists. Such cooperation contributes to integration into the modern educational process, which leads to a deeper understanding and realization of the needs of today's buyers.

For many years, the Luch company has been a permanent participant, general partner of the Russia-wide Forum "Teachers of Russia: Innovations in Education", the Forum "Innovations in Education: Trajectories of International Cooperation".

At the beginning of 2018, the company renewed the logo and corporate identity of the company.

In September 2018, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia presented “Luch” with a diploma for first place in the “Made for Childhood” competition and ranking of Russian companies. This is an annual event organized by the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia in order to identify and promote the most successful participants in the children's goods industry market.

In the same year, watercolors, gouache and modeling clay produced by the “Luch” became the winners of the independent national award “Parents' Choice-2018”.

In March 2019, the "Fantasy" modeling clay of the "Luch" company took first place in the IX National Prize in the field of goods and services for children "Golden Bear" in the "Product of the Year" category, in the "Best games and toys" nomination. “The Golden Bear” National Award is an industry-wide award for products and services for children and families with children, recognizing outstanding service from industry leaders.
